Hypnotherapy to quit smoking – "I found it really beneficial having the discussion with Melanie about the negative effects of smoking, as it gave me a different perspective on smoking.  As I always knew that smoking was bad for me, but just ignored it until Melanie opened up my eyes with facts that really hit home with me.  With Melanie’s guidance I become aware that my smoking was an empty habit, and how people around me encouraged me to smoke.  After the session I was filled with motivation and equipped with new behaviours, which I was confident I could apply.  Five months on and I am a non-smoker. The money I've saved from not buying cigarettes was only a small fraction of the cost of my therapy session, which to me is money well worth spent.  I feel much more energetic and I wish I’d quit smoking years ago."

Counselling for relationships – "I like the fact that my therapy sessions weren’t just based on talking.  The exercises Melanie did with me really helped give me a clearer understanding of why I might behave in certain ways, and helped me become aware of my past negative relationship patterns.  I felt very comfortable with talking and exploring my issues with Melanie.  With my new awareness and improved skills/resources, I feel confident that I will be able to make better choices when it comes to choosing a suitable partner."

Hypnoanalysis for weight loss – "I really enjoyed the garden which I was taken to and described as my special place.  I couldn’t wait to be taken back there in further sessions, as I felt really at peace with myself there. Through hypnoanalysis I met my inner child and was able to comfort her, which helped me to release repressed negative emotions experienced during my childhood.  As a result of my therapy sessions I was able to change my relationship with food. I lost weight without any major willpower needed, and reduced my cravings for unhealthy foods.  I feel that I finally have some control over my eating. Thank you so much."

EFT for food cravings - "For a long time I have not been able to cope with being hungry. Even if I knew that I would be eating in 10 minutes I couldn't wait.  I would have to eat there and then.  Once I had eaten this and then my meal I would then get annoyed with myself for my lack of will power.  I spent one session with Mel and she conducted the eft therapy.  I found it relaxing and simple and to be honest I didn't really know if it had worked as I wasn't hungry at the time.

However, I have found that it has helped immensely.  For example, a big test for me was at work one day.  I was hungry as it was coming up to lunchtime and I had managed to wait and not snack.  I was then asked to attend a meeting immediately that would be for over an hour.  I automatically went to get some crisps to tide me over but then thought, no I can wait I don't need these and put them back. This may not sound much but before I would have been trying to eat the crisps, as fast as I could before going to the meeting.

I feel that Mel's eft therapy has really helped me take control of my own emotions when I am hungry.  I will definitely be using it again and would recommend it whole heartedly."

EFT for negative emotions - "I have had Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the past, and found that it helped me to cope with the situation I was in at the time.  However I found that it didn’t help me with dealing with moving forwards.  Having discussed my problems with Mel, she suggested trying EFT. After an hour session with Mel, she helped me create coping strategies, which after 8 months have helped me to feel more positive and strong when dealing with situations, which in the past I would have struggled to deal with."

Hypnotherapy for weight loss - "I came to see Melanie for help with weight loss, as for all my adult years I have been an emotional eater and struggled to maintain a "normal" relationship with food...particularly chocolate! The Hypnotherapy sessions were very helpful as they helped me to identify the root causes of my behaviour around food, and these have changed since having the therapy. My eating has been much more rational and I don't have the same compulsions where chocolate is concerned. I have lost weight since finishing the sessions and feel generally more relaxed around food. I would definitely recommend Meaniel as a therapist because she was very thorough,and professional, and she has helped me to break a long standing negative habit."
